Ways to Support the Community Efforts

The question I  have been getting recently with increased regularity, is how can a viewer do more to support the community?

#1 Participation

I know it may not feel like much to a community member looking to do more, but simply participating in our efforts by interacting with content, will always be a cornerstone of support!

Viewing Content, Likes, and Comments do so much to expand our community reach to new viewers. For instance, I publish MANY MtG Arena decklists on Aetherhub. Next time you go to check one out, take a moment to like the decklist, or drop a comment. Every time you interact with our content, you increase our clout in that platform, and increase the power and range of our efforts. I realize this feels like a small inconsequential thing, but it has so much impact for such a low effort.

#2 Letting the Ad play on YouTube

The YouTube as of July 2023, has reached monetization and it will now provide a much needed influx of revenue to the community and resources to expand our vision. Please consider letting the Ads play, even if you aren't interested in them. After all, everyone needs a moment to use the restroom, or grab a refreshment.

#3 Subscribe & Follow across our expanding Platforms

I am certain you have discovered our Community on a single platform, probably YouTube. While any given platform represents an important portion of our efforts, did you know we are currently on 6 different platforms?

The fact is, I publish a lot of content for this community, and only a fraction of that content ever makes it out on to any single platform. I've included a list of our current platforms below.

YouTube, Twitch, Aetherhub, Facebook, Blogger and...

#4 Consider becoming a Stronghold Patron

Having become a Budget Community spokesman, I am very aware of the often wide gambit of resources which our members have with relation to their Entertainment funds. The sheer number an frequency of inquiries regarding Patreon, have driven me to take action. It is my sincere hope this provides a pathway for those with more resources to participate more directly in our community development, with the end goal of providing more indirect help to those dealing with a smaller entertainment opportunity.

I have put a lot of effort into creating multiple avenues of support, with specific benefits, and targeted goals. Each level of support is given specific opportunities to guide the community development, and specific areas for it's marginal funding. For instance, the first $1 (only) of each contribution will go to base needs of the Stronghold, like Work Space, Electrify, Broadband Optical Internet Access, and the occasional Coffee for yours truly, because that's what makes me go. Beyond that, each tier of patronage has specific functions like, expand the community, content development, and long term asset upgrades for the Stronghold. It is my goal, that there is an opportunity here for every resource level, and specific interest in our Communities growth.

and Now for Something Completely Different

Well, maybe not completely different. I often use this platform to talk about something I've heard related to Magic the Gathering . Today I'm going to talk about something I have heard more and more. Sometimes in life, media, and imagination somethings take on a life of their own, becoming more then sum of their parts, and reaching beyond the scope and measure of the seed thought which spawned them. Recently it has come to my attention that something as simple as a color, has done just that. We've come together today through the force and will of pink . For a year now this simple blending of red and white has brought people together from all across the globe, inspired and renewed friendships, shared hopes, dreams, and passions of individuals. It has in some small but measurable way, changed the world, and the people in it. I have thought that I was beyond the scope of this phenomenon, as beyond an impressive collection of scars, I really have nothing pink in my life. Let...

Grim Tidings #26: Flip-Flop

I think the majority of magic articles I write aren't very helpful. For the most part are a stream of self-congratulatory praise of how great my proven decks are. Sure, my cutting sarcasm and wit occasionally generate a chuckle (I still love the Chaos Orb piece) but for the most part, I they all smoosh together into a long wordy rant of why I think this-or-that card is so great and why you should play it too. It’s my own fault. I pretend that everyone who reads my ramblings knows who I am, and has the same preference in play style. I assume everyone plays Casual-Competitive Magic, that they all play 300 card 5-Color decks, highlander style, and they have access to all 10,000+ cards to randomly insert in Deck XYZ at any moment’s notice. Obviously this is untrue. The root of the problem may lie in my core deck: “First Reminder”. I gush on and on about this deck, partly to brag on my collection, and partly to show-off my self-proclaimed cleverness. The deck has gained notoriety (for w...
